B. FOR SUPPORT: COMPARISON BETWEEN THE EUTR AND THE DEFORESTATION-FREE PRODUCTS REGULATION EUDR)

Another EU Regulation that will impact our businesses.

The new EU-Regulation on Deforestation-free Supply Chains aims to repealing and replacing the previous EU Timber Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 995/2010) and the related Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 607/2012.

As soon as the Regulation has entered into force, the operators and traders will have 18 months to implement the new provisions. In practice, the EU-Regulation on Deforestation-free Supply Chains is expected to enter into application by the end of 2024 (June 2025 for small operators and small traders).

Herewith please find a comparison between the EUTR and the Deforestation-Free Products Regulation (EUDR).
