FINAT new website This week all users of the old FINAT website got a message to renew their online profile. If you did not receive this message, you should know that you are also very welcome to create your own profile. All FINAT members get to and by doing so, you get to access all FINAT documents offers its members! How to: create your individual user account on the new website, in order to enable your access to the member-only content sections. You can either choose the “Create new account“ link in the top right hand corner of the screen or go directly to http://www.FINAT.com/register. You can then enter your personal details (e.g. name, gender, etc.). The simple, but essential key to completing your personal profile, is to enter your email address that must match the email domain of your member company. The website automatically matches your domain with the domains in the member database and you will receive a link in your email box to complete your personal profile.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Have a look at your company profile in the Member Directory to check if this is up-to-date and if you have indicated your products. These details are used in the online Member Directory, one of the most visited pages of the FINAT website. Incomplete or invalid details, mean less exposure for your company! After registering for a personal profile, let us know that you are the main contact via info@finat.com so we can give you access to edit the company profile. |

EFSA: Guidance for new substances used in plastic FCMs EFSA has issued a guidance document for preparing application dossiers for the safety assessment of substances to be used in plastic food contact materials . The guidance, which can be found here, can assist companies wishing to submit application dossiers for authorization of substances to be used in plastic food contact materials within the scope of Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and according to Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011.” |

REACH 2018 - one year to go! The last REACH deadline to register low-volume chemicals is only a year away. If you have not yet started your preparations, you should do so as soon as possible. Help is available on the REACH 2018 web pages in 23 EU languages. REACH 2018 Labelling of Chemical Products – Changes from June 1 2017 The two-year transition period to comply with the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (CLP) ended on the 31st of May. Everyone in the supply chain, from retailers to manufacturers, is affected. Placing any incorrectly labelled products on the market will be illegal from 1 June 2017.
